As campers as camping lovers, you know there’s nothing quite like the smell of the campfire and grilling goodies such as hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken, or even your very own catch-of-the-day.

No, there’s nothing else quite like it.

But, you are on vacation, aren’t you? And, with vacation comes at least one day and night completely off from the normal, everyday tasks you would tackle at home.

Just that one day, your “off” day, perhaps you want to go out to eat. You want someone else to cook for you, to serve you. You want to relax.

PIZZA:
Mama Maria’s – From pizza, to subs to chicken fingers and fries, you can’t go wrong with this charming West Creek establishment. If you want something quick, but you also want something quality, this is the place to go. Less than five minutes from our campground. Naples Pizza – A southern Ocean County institution for decades, Naples has been a mainstay in Tuckerton since 1977. Bring the family to eat in, or use their app to place your order online – Naples has never disappointed. Of note – Friday and Saturday night in the summer can get very busy, so allow yourself enough time if you’re eating in, or taking to-go. SEAFOOD:
Grapevine Restaurant – Another long established restaurant institution located in Tuckerton, the Grapevine is known for its delicious seafood and pasta specialties. Its new lounge off the bar area is also good for more casual dining – as well as entertainment. The Grapevine II, also located on the premises, offers sandwiches, pizza and other goodies to-go. STEAKHOUSE:
The Old Causeway – If an authentic surf and turf meal is what you want, you get absolutely that and more at the Old Causeway. The burgers are nothing to scoff at either with fixins’ piled high, accompanied by parmesan cheese-sprinkled fries. Happy hour starts at 3 p.m. and star their awesome wings, clams and oysters. Weekly bands and entertainment is also scheduled throughout the summer. Of note – the OC fills up quickly and doesn’t take reservations. However, in our mind, it’s worth the wait every time! GREEK FOOD:
Kostas Grille – Newly-opened in Tuckerton, this authentic Greek eatery leaves no stone – or grape leaf left unturned when it comes to their Mediterranean offerings. PUB GRUB:
Calloway’s – Another mainstay located mere minutes from Sea Pirate, Calloway’s is a family favorite known for its relaxed atmosphere as well as its All-American food. Grab a great meal with the kiddos and then head outside to play miniature golf or watch them ride some of the rides of the onsite amusement park. Doyle’s – A favorite local haunt, Doyle’s offers the typical bar menu turned up a notch. Saddle up to the bar or grab a high-top table with the family – their wings, burgers and fries are to die for!
