Campers vs. Staff Weekend at a Glance

This weekend combines a little friendly competition with some classic Sea Pirate favorites:

  • Campers vs. Staff Day
  • Hayride and Meet Kiwi
  • Jumping Pillow
  • Ceramics
  • Indoor Tie Dye
  • Bingo
  • Open Craft Hour
  • Plus the Book One Night, Get One Free Flash Sale

The big question for Saturday:

Who is going to win the campers or the Sea Pirate staff?

Friday, October 16

The weekend starts Friday evening with two campground favorites.

Jumping Pillow

6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Let the kids burn off some energy and get the weekend started.

Wristbands must be worn and will be checked.

Hayride and Meet Kiwi

8:20 PM – 9:00 PM

Head over to the office and say hello to Sea Pirate Campground’s mascot, Kiwi, before hopping aboard the hayride.

The hayride begins at 8:30 PM, and Kiwi leaves at that time.

There is something about a fall hayride that just feels right.

Cooler air, campground lights, family piled together, and another Friday night where nobody has to rush home.

Saturday, October 17: Campers vs. Staff Day

Saturday is where the competition begins.

Jumping Pillow

9:30 AM – 11:00 AM

Start Saturday morning with some Jumping Pillow fun.

Wristbands must be worn and will be checked.

Ceramics

11:30 AM – 1:30 PM

Meet in the Treasure Room and choose a ceramic piece to paint.

Pieces range from $1–$15, depending on what you choose.

Acrylic paint is used and can stain clothing, so dress accordingly.

Main Event: Campers vs. Staff Day

2:00 PM – 3:30 PM

This is what the weekend is all about.

Head to the field by the pool and compete in multiple games against members of the Sea Pirate Campground staff.

Campers have the numbers.

Staff members know the campground.

Who has the advantage?

There is only one way to find out.

Bring the kids, bring the competitive spirit, cheer for your side, and see whether the campers can earn bragging rights over the Sea Pirate crew.

Indoor Tie Dye

4:00 PM – 5:00 PM

After the competition, head to the Treasure Room for some tie dye.

Fee applies.

Jumping Pillow

5:30 PM – 6:30 PM

There is still time for another Jumping Pillow session before Saturday night’s Bingo.

Wristbands must be worn and will be checked.

Bingo

7:00 PM – 8:30 PM

Meet in Swashbuckler’s Hall for Bingo.

$1 per board. Cash only.

It is a simple campground tradition, but those are often the best ones: family around the table, a little competition, and everybody waiting for that one last number.

Sunday, October 18

Sunday slows things down with crafts and one more chance for the kids to hit the Jumping Pillow.

Open Craft Hour

10:00 AM – 11:00 AM

Meet in the Treasure Room and choose from a variety of crafts.

Crafts range from $2–$5.

Jumping Pillow

11:30 AM – 1:00 PM

Finish the weekend with one more Jumping Pillow session.

Wristbands must be worn and will be checked.

Fall Camping Near Long Beach Island Is Still Going Strong

October is one of those times of year when camping feels completely different from July and that is part of what makes it so good.

The mornings are cooler.

The campground feels a little quieter.

You can throw on a sweatshirt, grab a cup of coffee, let the kids run around, and enjoy being outside without trying to fit everything into the middle of summer.

And Sea Pirate Campground is just minutes from Long Beach Island, making it easy to combine a fall camping weekend with some time at the Jersey Shore.

Take a drive to LBI.

Walk the beach.

Grab lunch.

Catch the sunset.

Then come back to the campground for activities, a hayride, Bingo, or simply an evening at your campsite.

Camping season is only over when we say it is over.

And this weekend, it is very much alive.
